Gary Long has been the driving force in both country and
contemporary dancing in the Metroplex since his arrival in 1983.
Said to be the "Father of Contemporary Swing," he has influenced this style
of dancing from coast to coast over the past 20 years.
Also known as the "Voice of Dance" in Dallas, Gary is the area's most sought after master of
ceremonies for many local events. He has been invited to be the emcee at
the U.S. Open, Swing Dancing's most prestigious national convention.
Gary's judging ability speaks for itself (a three-time judge at the U.S. Open).
His reputation for objectivity and integrity, along with a great sense
of humor, keeps his popularity at a top level both locally and across
the nation.
Other highlights in his career include a two time U.S. Open
Champion, a winner of the nationally syndicated T.V. show "Dance
Fever," three regional championships and the recipient of the
first "Heart of the Dancer" humanitarian award in Dallas.
Gary is also the founder and dance director of F.D.O. (For Dancers Only).
